Course Objectives
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to explain the long term historical background of the Turkish Economy from the late Ottoman period till the 2000s.
  • Will be able to relate the developments of the Turkish economy to the major shifts in the international political economy.
  • Will be able to discuss the historical, social and political roots of the contemporary structural problems of the Turkish economy.
  • Will be able to analyze the main patterns of production and distribution within the Turkish economy throughout the 20th century.
  • Will be able to write an analytical paper on one of the main topics covered during the course.

1 To have a sound knowledge of the quantitative and qualitative methods that will help to examine the premises of different theories for an applied subject so that a contribution to solving current economic problems can be made. X
